Salute the Sun, Salute Your Self

Saturday 2/19
12:00 - 2:00 pm

It’s all about the Sun Salutations, baby! Kicking off many iterations of modern vinyasa classes, let’s study the beloved Surya Namaskar practices. We will dissect classical sun sals as well as the A + B variations and add, subtract, modify, amplify, and personalize like crazy. Learn how to manipulate the stencil of a sun salutation to guide an entire holistic vinyasa sequence. Come prepared to take notes, practice, design, and teach!

Sanskrit + Storytime

Sunday 3/13
7:00 - 9:00 pm

Using the “Rockette” (an abbreviated Rocket vinyasa sequence) as an outline, Marge hopes to galvanize the learning teacher’s confidence as she breaks down the Sanskrit names of the asanas. We will also pause to reflect on several of the mythical stories behind some of the poses to connect back to the practice in a refreshing and inspired way. Come cozy and prepared to take notes.

Rocket: But Make it YOURS!

Sunday 4/10
7:00 - 9:00 pm

Did you know? —> The Yoga Dojo was originally founded as a sanctuary for Rocket Yoga. In this workshop, we will return to our Rocket roots and double down on Marge’s “Rockette” sequence. Once we have it down solid, let’s mess it up! First the technique, then the ART. Learn how to personalize and customize this sequence so that YOU can offer up a part of yourself in your teachings. Show up prepared to take notes, practice, and teach - blast off!

So, You Wanna Lead a Workshop...

Sunday 4/24
7:00 - 9:00 pm

Have you ever wanted to teach a workshop or a special class, but you have NO idea where to start? In this offering, Marge will break down the step-by-step process of workshop creation from the birth of an idea to its successful realization in the classroom. Expect a lot of business shop talk in terms of marketing, finances, communications, expectations, etc. This workshop will conclude with each participant designing a workshop pitch of their own; whether it be hypothetical or something you are working toward in real time, it’s a great brand-building muscle to practice flexing!

The Potluck: BYOQ

Sunday 5/15
7:00 - 9:00 pm

And finally, the conclusion: our very own Q&A Potluck of discussion. BYOQ - bring your own questions - and let’s keep it casual and interactive. The floor will be open to discuss what we have shared up until this point as well as anything else on your mind and heart. This final meeting, as a conclusion of the series, will invite a time of self-reflection and guided writing prompts to reconnect you back to your purpose as a yoga teacher.
